Built in Butcher Block

The homeowner had some old, unsightly appliances that were set into his granite countertop.  They wanted to remove the appliances and replace them with a drop-in butcher block.  He also had a cutting board that he loved and wanted to match it as close as possible.  After searching around at different types of wood, we found some walnut that would most likely match his current board.  The end result is this 2 inch thick, edge grain butcher block that recesses in the space that the old appliances once occupied.  I finished it with a food grade mineral oil and had 4 coats on it upon delivery to the customer.
